Class Descriptions

(Postponed) Kinder Karate

This class is designed for very young students (ages 3-6) who are interested in Karate but are not old enough to understand training concepts.  Kinder Karate provides exercises to help train and improve hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. The class is taught by games and activities that keep the child’s attention while providing  the learning skills necessary to improve the child’s well-being.

Beginner Class

Beginner class ( 7 years and up, White, Yellow, Orange and Green belts). This class will teach the students how to concentrate, basic karate techniques and knowledge, and hand and eye coordination.

Intermediate Class

Intermediate and Advanced class (Green, Purple, Brown and Black belts). In this class the student will learn advance karate techniques and knowledge, and more repetition.

Saturday Class

Saturday class is open to all students, and Sensei teaches a variety of special skills like self defense techniques. This class will teach you unique skills that will greatly improve your skill level. Coming to this class is also a great way to meet other NMKA members.

Private lessons

Private lessons are highly recommended. Taking a private lesson will improve your skill level tremendously. Everyone should take at least a private lesson once every 3 months to prepare for testing. Sensei Nagatomo may request some slower progressing students to take a private lesson. A private lesson is your class. Therefore, Sensei will teach what you request. Private lessons are 45 minutes long and can be scheduled during the available time slots posted at the back of the dojo.
