Class Descriptions Kinder Karate
This class is designed for very young students (ages 3-6) who are interested in Karate but are not old enough to understand training concepts. Kinder Karate provides exercises to help train and improve hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. The class is taught by games and activities that keep the childfs attention while providing the learning skills necessary to improve the childfs well-being.
Child Classes
For beginners and younger children(7-12years old). This class will teach the students how to concentrate, basic karate techniques and knowledge, and hand and eye coordination. For more advanced and older children (10-15years old). In this class, the student will learn more advance karate techniques and hard repetitive practice. The parent members of a child can attend the class their child is studying in. However, other adult members cannot attend children's classes.
Adult Classes
Beginner class (13years old up, White, Yellow, Orange and Green belts). This class will teach you basic karate techniques and knowledge, and body conditioning. Intermediate and Advanced class (Green, Purple, Brown and Black belts). In this class the student will learn advance karate techniques and knowledge, and more repetition. Saturday Class Saturday class is open to all students, and Sensei teaches a variety of special skills like self defense techniques. This class will teach you unique skills that will greatly improve your skill level. Coming to this class is also a great way to meet other NMKA members.
Noon Class (open workout)
Noon classes often have a smaller number of students and are recommended for improving a student's skill level. However, if you attend only the noon classes, you may progress more slowly than students who also are attending evening classes.
Private lessons
Private lessons are highly recommended. Taking a private lesson will improve your skill level tremendously. Everyone should take at least a private lesson once every 3 months to prepare for testing. Sensei Nagatomo may request some slower progressing students to take a private lesson. A private lesson is your class, therefore, Sensei will teach what you request. Private lessons are 45 minutes long and can be scheduled during the available time slots posted at the back of the dojo.
Senpai class
Senpai classes are open to everybody (except Kinder Karate) These classes are taught by a Senpai (senior Black Belt) and assisted by a Shodan (1st Black Belt) These classes vary due to other Dojo Activities on Fridays. Please see gDojo Newsh, Dojo message board or website for updates. |
